We are proud to have the support of our Ambassadors to help promote International Day of People with Disability (IDPwD) and share their unique experiences and perspectives.

Sara Shams: One in Five Australians have a disability.

We’re all different and there’s beauty in disability as well.

Uncle Paul Constable-Calcott: I’ve lived with disability all my life.

It’s taught me to be resilient. It’s changed my perspective on how I do things.

But it’s also introduced me to amazing people with disabilities and the resilience of people with disabilities and the contribution they make.

Cooper Smith: I feel people underestimate people with disability, I’m a big believer in putting myself out there.

Khadija Gbla: Our community has the ability to see each and every one of us in our unique self that we are exactly what we all need to make our world better.

Marley Whatarau: We have disabilities, we have Down syndrome.

Hayden Moon: Being autistic has been an asset as a PhD student.

I’m basically living my dream here, researching a special interest every day.

Marcus Dadd: If you approach life and you have a go and, sure, it might need slight alteration or adaptation, but always with the end goal to achieving what I want to achieve.

Khadija Gbla: Disabled people, we deserve to exist without apology of who we are.

Raise your expectations and start to acknowledge that people with disabilities have incredible strength and navigate a world every day not designed for them.

Hayden Moon: There are people out there who will love and support you for who you are, and you will find people who will surround you with love and acceptance.
