Grow Inclusion Schools Competition Terms and Conditions Student Category

Introduction

1. Information on how to enter the competition and the prize to be won forms part of these Terms and Conditions.  By entering the competition, entrants are indicating their agreement to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.
2. The Promoter is the Department of Social Services, whose registered office is Enid Lyons Building, 71 Athllon Drive, Greenway ACT 2900 (the Promoter).
3. The competition is open to all Australian primary and secondary school students.
4. The Promoter may in its sole discretion disqualify an entrant who submits an entry that the Promoter has reason to believe does not comply with these Terms and Conditions or has engaged in any unlawful or improper misconduct which is judged to put at risk the fair and proper conduct of the competition in any way.
5. The competition opens at 9:00am on Wednesday 1 September 2021 and closes at 5:00pm on Friday 19 November 2021 (the competition period).  All times are AEDT, as applicable in the Australian Capital Territory.
6. Entries must be received before the end of the competition period.  No entries will be accepted after the end of the competition period.  The Promoter accepts no responsibility for any entries not received on time (whether or not due to any negligence by the Promoter), including without limitation any technical errors.

How to enter

7. Competition details can be found at www.idpwd.com.au
8. To enter the competition, the entrant must complete the following steps during the competition period to submit an “entry”:
   1. Visit www.idpwd.com.au/growinclusion.
   2. Complete the online entry form.
   3. Upload your creative drawing, artwork or poster when prompted during the entry process. Your submission must be for International Day of People with Disability and incorporate the theme ‘Grow Inclusion’.
9. Agree to these Terms and Conditions when prompted during the entry process. If the entrant is under the age of 18, consent must be provided by their parent or guardian.  Only one entry is permitted per individual student. The entry must not have been published previously and/or have been used to win prizes in any other competitions.
10. Entrants much comply with the specified file types and limits:
    1. Submissions must be high-resolution photographs, scans or electronic copies of the original artwork in jpeg, eps or PDF format.
    2. The file size must not exceed 5MB total.
    3. Hard copies of original artworks will not be accepted.
11. This is a competition of skill, as such chance plays no part in determining the winner.
12. Entries will be judged using the following criteria:
    1. Overall visual appeal and creativity.
    2. Layout and design.
    3. Promotion of International Day of People with Disability.
    4. Interpretation of the ‘Grow Inclusion’ theme.
13. The best valid entry, as determined by the judge/s, will receive the prize.  All entrants acknowledge and agree that there is an element of subjectivity in the judging criteria.
14. Entrants warrant and agree that:

1. they will comply with the Terms and Conditions.
2. the entry is the original creation of the entrant.
3. the entry is not in breach of any intellectual property rights and that they have secured all the necessary intellectual property rights in relation to their entry. The Promoter accepts no responsibility in the event that the entrant has not done so.
4. they will ensure appropriate consents have been obtained from their parents/guardians if they are aged under 18 years. The Promoter accepts no responsibility in the event that appropriate consents have not been sought.
5. they comply with all applicable laws.
6. the content is not defamatory and is suitable for publication.

 Prize

15. The prize is as follows: gift voucher to the value of $250 chosen by the Promoter (the prize).
16. Prizes will be awarded across three categories – junior (kindergarten to year 3), middle (years 4 to 6) and senior (years 7 to12).
17. The prize is as stated and no cash or other alternatives will be offered. The prize is not transferable.
18. The prize is subject to availability and where reasonable the Promoter reserves the right to substitute the prize with another of equivalent value without giving notice.
19. There is no entry fee and/or purchase necessary to enter the competition.
20. Any costs associated with entering the competition or claiming of the prize is the responsibility of the entrant.  The Promoter takes no responsibility for any costs incurred by the entrant (and there will be no reimbursement of any costs) in the course of taking part in the competition.
21. The winner of each category will be chosen on 25 November 2021 at 10am in Canberra ACT, by a Committee appointed by the Promoter.
22. The winners will be notified by email on 25 November 2021 and advised how the prize can be delivered.
23. The onus is on the winner to contact the Promoter within 7 days to claim the prize. If the winner fails to do so, the Promoter reserves the right to withdraw the prize from the winner and pick a replacement winner.
24. The winner will be publicly announced on 3 December 2021 on the IDPwD website and social media.

General

25. The Promoter’s decision in respect of all matters to do with the competition will be final and no correspondence will be entered into.
26. By submitting an entry, and accepting the Prize, the winning entrant grants to the Promoter, a royalty-free, worldwide, non-exclusive licence (including a right to sub-licence) to use, reproduce, communicate, publish, adapt, modify and exploit its entry in any public material of the Promoter for an unlimited period without compensation for the purposes of promoting the IDPwD;
27. Personal information collected by the Promoter relating to each entrant and entry for the purpose of the competition will be used and handled in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988, Australian Privacy Principles and the Promoter’s Privacy Policy.
28. The Promoter may, solely for the purpose of judging and selecting the winning entries, disclose personal information to the Committee appointed by the Promoter.
29. Personal information will not be disclosed, other than agreed in the consent section on the online entry form, to any other third party without the entrant’s prior consent.
30. The Promoter reserves the right to cancel or amend the competition and these Terms and Conditions without notice in the event of a catastrophe, health pandemic, war, civil or military disturbance, or any actual or anticipated breach of any applicable law or regulation, or any other event outside of the Promoter’s control.
31. The Promoter will have the right, at its sole discretion and at any time, to change or modify these Terms and Conditions. Any changes to the competition will be published as soon as possible, and be effective immediately upon publishing on the www.idpwd.com.au website.
32. The competition is in no way sponsored, endorsed or administered by or associated with YouTube, Facebook, or any other social network platform.
33. The competition and these Terms and Conditions will be governed by Australian law and any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Australia.
