Disability Day

The International Day of People with Disability event’s main goal is to increase community awareness and support of those who have experienced disability and to celebrate those in our community. Food is provided through a free sausage sizzle and various stalls and tables are set up for the invited groups; such as Advocare, Advocacy WA, Carers WA Belong at Home, Forrest Personnel, South West Aboriginal Medical Service, Wanslea and the NDIS to talk about disability inclusivity and welcome the general public in to get information about their programs and raise awareness. A petting zoo will also be present from the people at Hygge Farm as well as Shelle’s Fancy face Painting to make the event more fun. The Donnybrook Lion’s Club will also be providing the grill for an old fashioned sausage sizzle.

Accessibility details

Ayers Gardens is an open area park on the main road of Donnybrook, will easy wheelchair access and under cover area. The large space will be easily accessible for all with both public and private toilets on their side of the event. Ayers Gardens is also located next to the Donnybrook bus terminal with access between. The featuring organisations will be providing their own speakers on Disability practices, the Gardens itself is also open to all animals with Hygge Farm even hosting a petting zoo.
