Pathways to Possibilities 2025: Celebrating International Day of People with a Disability
To celebrate this year’s IDPWD, SSI will host a virtual celebration in partnership with the Australian Federation of Disability Organisations (AFDO) that also serves as the final Pathways to Possibilities Communities of Practice (CoP) meeting for 2025.
This combined event will elevate the voices and lived experiences of people with disability, reinforcing the importance of inclusive practices across all sectors.
A highlight of the session will be a panel discussion exploring these commitments, offering insights, reflections and next steps.
- Opening address by Jeff Smith, Commissioner of the NSW Ageing and Disability Commission.
- Welcome to Country delivered by Elder Michael West.
- Leadership welcome by Ben Fioramonte, SSI’s General Manager – Children, Families and Disability Support.
- Keynote speech by Matthew Hall, AFDO’s National Manager – Systemic Advocacy & Policy, on building a truly inclusive future.
- Celebration of CoP members and their incredible contributions
- Panel discussion with thought leaders including Dr George Taleporos, Téa Rundback, Sharon Xabregas and Laura Imbruglia.
