Our Lives, Our Voices – shaping the future through voice, power, identity and self-direction
Tuesday 3 December 2024 is the UN International Day of People with Disability and Advocacy for Inclusion in conjunction with Women with Disabilities ACT and the interim steering committee for the Day are hosting ‘Our lives our voices – shaping the future through voice, power, identity and self-direction. This event kicking off at 12 noon will mark the transition of I-Day to control by the disability community and will feature a panel discussion with Rhonda Galbally, Disability Royal Commissioner, Renee Heaton, Chair of the ACT Disability Reference Group, Kat Reed, CEO of Women with Disabilities ACT, Sean Fitzgerald, Founder of Consumers in Control and pioneer of self-directed funding in ACT and Craig Wallace, Head of Policy for Advocacy for Inclusion plus some surprise guests (tbc).
