International Day of People with Disability 2023 Survey – Privacy Collection Notice

The Department of Social Services (department, we, us) is currently inviting participants to provide their views on the International Day of People with Disability (IDPwD) 2023 Program through a survey (the Survey).

This privacy collection notice is designed to ensure you are aware of certain matters regarding the department’s collection of any personal information you may provide, as required by the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) (the Privacy Act).

Purpose of collection

We are conducting the Survey to help us plan for IDPwD in 2024 and improve the support we provide to our stakeholders and the public.

We do not require personal information to be included in your response. As part of the Survey, we do not ask you to provide your name, phone number or address, or the personal information of other people.

If you (or another person) can be reasonably identified from your response, the Privacy Act will apply to that information. We will handle that personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act’s requirements.

Use and disclosure

We will use any personal information contained in the Survey responses only for the purpose of its collection – that is, to help us plan for IDPwD in 2024 and improve how we support our stakeholders and the public. We will not use or disclose it for another purpose unless this is authorised or required by law, or permitted under the Privacy Act.

We will not disclose personal information to overseas recipients.
