International Day of People with Disability – Para Hills High School

The International Day of People with Disability at Para Hills High School is to build connections and understanding between students within the mainstream and students within the disability unit. Developing awareness, providing training and information and building knowledge is seen as a way of creating a whole school culture of inclusion. On the day the school will also be presenting our governing council and other dignitaries, the school’s Inclusion Action Plan.

Para Hills High School has organised an afternoon of fun for all transition students in celebration of International Day for People with Disability. As a secondary school with a large disability unit with 57 students, we believe it’s important to celebrate the achievements and contributions of people with disability in our school as well as our local community.

Activities on the day will include:
• Colour blast fun run
• Inclusive soccer
• Movie premiere
• BBQ and market stalls
• Wheelchair sports
• A science show
