Reflections on the Mirrorball: Safe Relationships and Sexuality for People with Disabilities

You’re invited to Women with Disabilities ACT’s International Day of People with Disability (IDPwD) event, “Reflections on the Mirrorball” – Safe relationships and Sexuality for People with Disabilities.

Starting at 6 pm with a screening of the short film Mirrorball (2012), which looks at relationships of people of intellectual disability and their families. The screening will be followed by a panel looking beyond the film, to explore what safe relationships look like and how people with disabilities navigate their sexual identity.

IDPwD is about celebrating the achievements and contributions of people with disabilities as well as fostering inclusion. This year WWDACT’s IDPwD event will reflect this year’s theme of “Empowering persons with disabilities and ensuring inclusiveness and equality” by highlighting that people with disabilities have the right to have relationships and to explore their sexuality.

The night will conclude with the WWDACT Annual General Meeting.
