Community Fest
The Community Fest for 2008 is happening on 3 December 2008. It is an opportunity for the community of Bendigo to showcase inclusion of all members of the community that are disadvantaged in any way. Our mission statement is "Linking our communities through participation." This event focuses on removing barriers from people who want to engage in activities in Bendigo. We would like to announce Daniel Giles (Bendigo Young Citizen of the Year), as the Ambassador for the Community Fest. Splash Out
The event will be held at the Peterson Youth Centre in Highett, which is a drop-in centre for all young people. Every Monday evening during school term we hold a flexible respite art program free for all young people. We currently have five young people registered with the program but have any number of young people join in at any time or any week. Club Wild celebrates IDPwD
Long renowned as Melbourne’s go-to guys for the funkiest all-ability events and most current and relevant workshops in music, video and performance. This year Club Wild are takin’ it to the streets to celebrate International Day of People with Disability. The event, held over lunchtime in City Square, will feature a range of Club Wild’s artists, including feature acts The Big Bag Band (formed in 1989), who are widely regarded as one of Australia's leading disability-cool music groups. As well as the amazing DJ Vinnie, who began his career in 1993 after winning a radio contest to DJ at top nightclub The Metro and has gone on to achieve outstanding success.
